This is a Jim Carrey film I actually fancy seeing(!!)

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) - Review

Review quote: "It's Got: Excellent performances from Kate Winslet and Kirsten Dunst, and a surprisingly restrained (and therefore tolerable) one from Jim Carrey"

I Really like "Being John Malkovich" (same writer) and this type of film has a certain appeal to me. I'll have to watch it on my own though because Layla would probably rather boil her head than watch any film that isn't LOTR or POTC!

As promised - the finished windows:

And progress on the bathroom floor - we have the metal work in but unfortunately we've discovered that the main supporting wall is only single skin so we're going to have to dig down put new footings in a build another skin inside ... bummer :(

  The Latest Update!

First there were rotten windows....

Then we removed them! (hacked them out then lowered them out of the openings to the ground, smashing the gas meter cover in the process)

Here is one of the gaping holes in the wall being prepared by a master builder followed by five weeks of howling wind and cold while waiting for Wickes to deliver!!!

Here is the master builder again with his feline assistant :) fitting new windows!!!! (Pictures of lovely new windows to follow in a later post)

Previous to this little task we added rudimentary heating to our abode.

Here is our unswept chimney with an old redundant gas flue. (good eh?)

Here are our failed attempts to contain the soot while we swept the chimney ourselves!!! (brush hire courtesy of HSS)

A clean(er) Chimney.

Then I tried and failed to fit a new flue for our stove (I'm frightened when I'm on the roof). So Builder was hired to do that job.

Here is our stove being lovingly fitted by a true craftsman (!)

... and here it is in action!!

We also had time to build a little library.

Now... we've trashed the house again.

This time we've knocked down the ceiling of our extension in order to reinforce it for a new bathroom.

If you think it looks filthy and horrible, you're right; it is!!!

C observes the devastation.

Our feline assistant prepares a quote for the clean up operation...
